An RSO for this year´s event is currently being sought.

This page identifies those who have volunteered their skills to ensure the launch is run safely. With the help of these contributors, we are able to to ensure that our launch activities run in accordance with CAR safety rules. If you've never volunteered for range duty at a launch and would like to, read the next couple paragraphs to learn about the roles. Depending on the level of participation, attendies could be arbitrarily volunteered to any of the roles.

The CAR "Range Official Job Description" describes the various roles as a Rocket Inspector (RI), Launch Control Officer (LCO), and Pad Manager.

The CAR "Certified Rocket Inspector Program" document provides a detailed description of the role of the RI, and provides guidelines so that an RI can meet the objectives of the Range Safety Officer (RSO). The forms for performing rocket inspections are available on CARWeb under Association Information / CAR Documents.

To facilitate the training of RIs, we also ask for volunteers to Apprentice as a Rocket Inspector (App RI), where RIs at various levels including RI Level 0 can learn from a more experienced rocketeer.
