There is no age restriction to launch a model rocket with a motor class A to G. However to launch high powered rockets with motors of class H to O, members must be 18 years of age or older and hold the appropriate certifications. Individuals aged 14 to 17 may fly high powered rockets as Junior members but must have an adult sponsor who holds at least the same certifications being attempted.

There are four certification levels for high power rocketry in Canada. Each level (L1, L2, L3, and L4) allow you to launch higher impulse motors. See the Canadian Association of Rocketry website for more detail.

Our meetings are held on the first Sunday of every month from 1pm to 3pm at The Hanger Flight Museum in Calgary, AB. If the first Sunday is during a long weekend, the meeting will be rescheduled for the following Sunday. Please see our calendar.

There is a $25 CAD fee to launch high powered model rockets at a sanctioned event. If you are a CAR-ACF member and/or are younger than 18 years, launching model rockets is free. However, if you are 18+ and not a member of CAR-ACF, there is a $5 CAD fee to launch model rockets. Cash or cheque please.

All rocket launches are free to the public.
